SBTi-validated Emissions Reduction Targets

Kerry Properties’ near-term (2030) and long-term (2050) greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction targets have been validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). This milestone marks the Company’s unwavering commitment to reduce GHG emissions with its validated science-based targets in line with the Paris Agreement’s goal of limiting global warming to 1.5°C, and to achieve net-zero GHG emissions across the value chain by 2050 in combating climate change. 

For SBTi-validated near-term science-based emissions reduction targets, the Company has committed to reducing absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 52.9% by 2030 from a 2019 base year, and to reduce Scope 3 GHG emissions* by 51.6% per square foot by 2030 from a 2023 base year. As for the validated long-term science-based emissions reduction targets, the Company has committed to reducing absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 90% by 2050 from a 2019 base year, and to reduce Scope 3 GHG emissions by 90% by 2050 from a 2023 base year. 

*From capital goods, fuel and energy related activities, upstream transportation and distribution, waste generated in operations and downstream leased assets.
